Pink Nintendo DS Lite Is The New Barbie
Friday, May 11th, 2007 at 7:48pm by Erick
Newsweek’s Assistant Managing Editor Kathy Deveny recounts the story of fulfilling her 6-year-old daughter’s Christmas wish of delicious DS ownership via N’Gai Croal’s LevelUp page. It’s a heart-wrenching story full of surprise twists, big-budget special effects, and some of the most polite teenagers I’ve ever read about frequenting a game store.

Sam and Max contest slams Square, E3
Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 at 12:34pm by StaffTelltale’s Sam and Max had a contest recently, with the help of Wired’s Game|Life. Some of the entires were Nintendo related, some were not. Most were funny, and a lot attacked E3 for being pitiful, which it now is. So it’s really a mix of reality, comics and Ken Kutaragi jokes. All good fun, in other words.
The winners can be found here, and the rest can be found here.

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007 at 12:16pm by StaffMiyamoto Edition Gold Game Boy SP sells for $$$
Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 at 12:17pm by StaffOK, so some of us gamers are trying to get Shigeru Miyamoto onto TIME’s Top 100 people list because we think he’s important and we’re not worthy, etc. etc. But is he $2,157 important?
That’s right. The gold SP above sold for $2,157 on April 16 to some “lucky” eBayer. Worth it? I have no idea, but here’s hoping the seller uses some of that scratch to buy a camera with a working flash.
Nintendo Spotting: Donkey Kong clock only tells time edition
Monday, April 23rd, 2007 at 12:12pm by Staff
I realize this is a clock, and that the purpose of a clock is to tell time, but my initial reaction to this Donkey Kong clock was that it had Mario running up and down the girders trying to get his girl while at the same time it, well, also told me the time. This is not the case.

Is Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree the first online Wii title?
Monday, April 23rd, 2007 at 11:56am by Staff
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree drops on June 11, which is before Pokemon. This is the official Nintendo box art, as supplied to us by Play Nintendo. Are the folks at Nintendo planning a little surprise?
NOTE: With all of the “real” video game blogs out there still reeling after running with a satire article as real news last week, I am stamping this post with a RUMOR tag.
UPDATE: A gentle coughing in the comment section has pointed me to the obvious “Mario Strikers (Europe May 25) is you idiot” realization that seems to have somehow passed me over this groggy Monday morning.

Sacrilege. There are hundreds of thousands of needy, Wii-less gamers out there jonesing for the hottest console this side of the ‘verse, and the U.K. Pimp my Ride blokes are cramming one into some gaudy Renault Clio?! The horror.

Mega Man hawks bubble tea in Montreal. I wonder what kind of weapon/tool tea gives the ol’ Rock Man these days?
