Pikmin 3 development confirmed

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at 11:02pm by Jake

pikmin 3!!!We finally have an official confirmation that the Pikmin 3 project exists, and is in development. This news comes fresh from Nintendo’s E3 2008 Developer Roundtable. Take a wild guess at who let the cat out of the bag? Yup, Miyamoto. When the man was asked about a new entry into the series he simply stated…

“We’re making Pikmin.”

That was all that was said, but I’m sure it was just enough to relieve many disappointed Nintendo fans. I know I’m happy.

Miyamoto doesn’t know when to shut it

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at 10:31pm by Jake

Wha?!
If you’ve been following Nintendo for the past decade you probably know that the company is very sneaky when giving interviews. You also know that Miyamoto has some trouble with that. Here are the five games that Miyamoto has accidentally spilled the beans on at E3 2008.

Show me the perfect Nintendo game, please

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at 11:49am by Jack

If there’s one thing I would have loved to have seen revealed at E3 this week, it was a long-term memory for people who frequent the Internet. Something they could download easily and upload into their cortex. Nothing fancy. I say this because, by and large, the apoplectic reaction to Nintendo’s “sell out” press conference has been baffling. (more…)

Miyamoto hints to new Pikmin, Mario titles

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at 7:54am by Derek

No one expected to be dissecting quotes again so soon, but if I don’t write about some good Nintendo games during E3, I am going to lose my freaking mind. If I have to dig through interviews for more vague hints, the likes of which are usually pre-E3 fodder, then so be it.

Nintendo broke my heart during its onstage waggle-fest idiot parade yesterday, but the company has dropped some hints offstage that are somewhat encouraging, if you can manage to crawl from the gutter from which it threw you.

In an E3 interview yesterday with IGN’s Matt Casamassina, Shigeru Miyamoto dropped some not-so-subtle hints to encourage Nintendo fans that were hoping to see, you know…video games at E3.

Animal Crossing: City Folk confirmed for November 16 release

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 at 10:46pm by Jake

City Folk
Gamespot managed to grab the official release date for the just announced Animal Crossing game for the Wii. Animal Crossing: City Folk is set to release on November 16th, 2008. It is still unknown at this time whether, or not Nintendo’s new WiiSpeak microphone will launch on the same day, but it would make perfect sense to have it coincide with the games release.
