  1. Wii Wii says:

I hope they do a good job with the port and that online is good.
I think with the Wii controls, it could be sweet for those who have never played it.

  2. cmdg says:

A little late to the party…

  3. Eric says:

Sounds good to me. World at War on the Wii was actually pretty awesome, and the online worked really well.

  4. Dfox says:

..Let’s not lie. This is a downgrade…..Fortunately I have a PS3 and will be enjoying Modern Warfare 2 on launch day.
    …Yes!

  5. droop4 says:

    @ the developer:

    Fuhk you.
    that is all
    🙂

PS- Moder warfare 2 on the 360 for me. Its a shame… the Wii really has potential as provén by the conduit (potential yes- but it wasn’t fully developed). A seasoned developer like them could really sqeeze the juice there. Oh well.

  6. Used Cisco says:

I’m just sad I already beat this on PS3 as I would rather have played it fresh on Wii. I’ll still pick it up though as the controls will be vastly superior and I’m not in a big rush to play Modern Warfare 2.

  7. kingmohd84 says:

    WOW
a two year old game arriving on the Wii!! and it is even with lesser features than the old one!(considering no HD of course, and I bet bad online)

    I MUST GET A WII!!!

  8. Paolo says:

    Bit late don’t you think?

I really don’t know what to think about this port!?!?!

To please the Wii audience is way too late! I don’t think it takes two full years to complete it!

To see if it sells also on Wii it is, as well, too late as it has already sold gajillion of copies on the other platforms!

I really hope they didn’t do it to prove that these games don’t sell on Wii (a two-years-old game would always sell poorly), just to prove them right or it would be really annoying!

  9. Blake says:

This is an exhilarating game. Exciting news for Wii owners who have yet to play it. Here’s hoping the port maintains the true feeling of the original.

  10. Nick says:

Just because it’s coming out late doesn’t mean that it won’t sell. A lot of people who have Wiis have never played this game.

  11. HyperPhazon says:

    @ Blake & Nick

Exactly, I’ve heard nothing but praise for this game, yet I’ve never tried it since my computer would suffer the computing equivalent heart attack if I so much as stuck the disk in it. Assuming that EA actually puts some wholehearted effort into this instead of giving us a watered down (besides the lack of HD) port, I’ll likely end up buying this.

  12. Carlos says:

Will you play the a Wii port of a great 360 and PS3 game in November I am going to play Modern Warfare 2. I rely don’t like wen developer port games from the 360 too the Wii, they look like s#$%. I wood prefer a original IP… O GOD! THIS Game Is going to sell a lot of copies but is going to look like crap. They are going to ruin this great game!!!!!!!!

  13. That Dude says:

They should just come out with something new! forget ports! If they wanna bring a good game to the wii, make it ORIGINAL! it will sell to everyone and it will give the audience something new and hopefully fun. Forget ports, actually think of a new idea!

  14. frstOne says:

Why Modern Warfare instead of Modern Warfare 2? That was a stupid decision, IMO.

  15. Fabio says:

@frstOne: agreed. They are doing this so it can benefit from the MW2 marketing. I can see lots of people mistakenly buying this game thinking it is a Wii version of MW2.

  16. Brian says:

    War shooters… blah!

  17. Batmyke says:

I dunno… I was not impressed with the controls for World At War on the Wii (sorry about the alliteration), so if I am to take a hit in the visuals department AND play with poor controls, it will be a no-go for me. However, if Treyarch can nail the controls, ala The Conduit, Metroid Prime 3 or Medal of Honor Heroes 2, I’ll be there!

  18. Kyle says:

@Carlos – Your 360/PS3 version was a downgrade of the superior PC version. Shove that in your pipe and smoke it.

  19. Run line 10 says:

Does it matter what version? I mean really what has changed game play wise in MW2? They just need to get the motion control right and use motion+ to one up HVS to make the cursor smoother. They have a better online system I believe in EA nation also.

I mean quake 3 is how old and if it came to the Wii I would definitively buy it. If the Wii was just like the HD console then you would have a point but the Wii actually made FPS on console fun again along with any type of 1:1 pointing game. With motion+ now it is even better. Seriously if they can keep me playing resort this long then you are on to some thing.

  20. Rith says:

Hopefully, it won’t be a spinoff. Other than that I think it will be a fantastic addition to Wii’s library. A dedicated hard-core war shooter is just what the Wii needs. Now it has the potential to satisfy more gamers…in the hopes the Wiimote won’t fail.

  21. skeptical says:

    I’m of two minds here.

    (1) Wow, it won awards in 2007? Too bad we’re living in 2009 now.

    (2) Good games are good games, regardless of how old they are. There’s a good reason why Modern Warfare is still a big title on PS3/360… it’s a very solid game!

If the Wii version has good controls then this is awesome news. If the Wii version is a quick-and-dirty port then it’ll be the final straw for Activision in my book… they’ve done a crap job supporting Wii since day 1, and seem to view the system as nothing more than a quick cash-in opportunity.

(Granted, they also push quick cash-ins on other systems. But at least those systems get some quality content to help balance things out.)

  22. C.J. says:

I think the best thing they could have done is an original game with a paralell plot that covers both COD 4 and MW2. I also think they should use an old engine from the previous generation instead of a striped down COD 4 engine.

  23. Amon says:

I’m a Nintendo-consoles only owner, so this is great news. If I can purchase it, it’ll be day one purchase. At least there’s some effort from Activision to build the hardcore game library for Wii, even though it might suck. Still, it’s Treyarch developing this version and after CoD:WaW, I remain quite confident this title will satisfy my core gaming needs.

  24. wii lover says:

I cant wait- i have a wii and world at war for it- ive been waiting sooooooooooooooooo long for this to come out!!

  25. wii lover says:

Wait-I’ll only be happy if they keep the controls from WaW
