Key executives to leave Nintendo?
Wednesday, June 6th, 2007 at 7:33pm by David
According to a post on GameInformer, three key executives are set to leave Nintendo when the company moves its marketing group to San Francisco or New York. The article lists Senior Director of Public Relations Beth Llewelyn, Vice President, Marking and Corporate Affairs Perrin Kaplan, and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications George Harrison. This would be a major shakeup in the public facing side of Nintendo, but since no official confirmation has come from the company, I’m listing this as a rumor. Stay tuned to Infendo for more information as it becomes available.
Do you think these key executives are leaving Nintendo?

They’re heading over to Sony.

Alas. I loved Perrin.

Ok I undestand now. Since Nintendo is moving departments to New York and San Francisco, all these people decided to remain there, probably since all their friends and family (AND their houses!) are in that city, they rather get a pay check. I been there, and it is very difficult to leave your life and start a new one someplace else. But Whatever happens, all these people are getting new jobs pretty fast, maybe even the competitors might want to get their Nintendo insider info…

There might be some resentment since they’re all of a sudden so successful, and these 3 were around in darker times. I could see them feeling as though the challenges facing Nintendo now are a lot steeper. Either that or maybe they’re rich enough.

Is everyone forgetting the M$ is just across the street?

I have a feeling this is true. Perrin Kaplan alluded to the possibility of herself leaving in her last interview with GI. She said it was a geographical thing. I wouldn’t pin too much on this though, after all it’s just typical business practice. It just seem like a big deal ‘cos we love Ninty and these people are the faces we know.

I don’t think it will really make a big difference, Nintendo will have lots of talent looking to be a part of the company. And these guys can say that they helped launch the Wii and DS which should put them in a rahter nice position.

Wasn’t it announced that they were moving a while back? Why did they took this long to quit? I say fake.

I don’t see why anyone would care…

I think it is very likely… The Nintendo they “grew up” in is very different now, and I’m sure they have some heavy hitters applying for those jobs now…

I hope Perrin trips on one of her scarfs and falls on her face on the way out and rolls down the stairs and a oddly placed woodchipper takes her and here horrid fasion style out.
The other two can go over to Sony so we can get bent.
