Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available on Wii U, is this a sign of things to come?

It’s little details such as this that makes me think that Wii U could have a fantastic line up of games come the systems launch. Along with releasing for the usual Xbox 360/PS3/PC combo of systems, this fall Assassin’s Creed 3 will also come to Wii U this Fall. Set during the American Revolutionary War, Assassin’s Creed 3 will follow the story of protagonist Ratohnhaké:ton. No, I wish that was a typo but that’s his name.

Ratohnhaké:ton (who has also taken the name Connor) is of Native American and English decent, and apparently enjoys swinging on trees. The game has apparently been in production for over three years, and will feature, “the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay,” according to Yves Gillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft.

If all the stars align for Nintendo, the Wii U could potentially have the most solid console launch of all time. Think about it. You have to figure that Nintendo is working on something, be it a Mario title or perhaps even Pikmin 3 for the Wii U launch, but when you factor in what 3rd parties could (and should) bring to the table, that’s when things get exciting. What if Irrational Games made Bioshock Infinite available for the launch of the console? How would you like to play Resident Evil 6 and Borderlands 2 on Wii U?

If they aren’t already, Nintendo really should be courting developers to release all their high profile games simultaneously on Wii U this fall. What do you think? If given the option, would you buy your multiplatform games on Wii U?

Nintendo was, is, and will always be about FUN! That is what makes this company stand above the others. They are the company to lead the way into the next generationS of gaming. They proved it with the DS and Wii, and obviously they will continue that trend with this console, and any thereafter. They have not copied anyone, only emulated by others. This is a fact that any gamer cannot deny. These are glorious times for the gaming industry, and I believe the best is yet to come 🙂 Thank you Nintendo!

I would consider buying it for Wii U if there are improvements (other than better textures, lighting and framerate). The Wii U Tablet opens up many possibilities, so it will be interesting to see what happens with this release.

I wonder how these games will do on a Nintendo platform, as they are just sequels to games that never have been on Nintendo’s shores.
