I am extremely pleased… this addition HAD to happen.

Isn´t he part of RARE´S IP????

  3. Jamie says...

Nintendo invented Diddy Kong, same as Donkey and Dixie Kong, Rare were just given the character to use in making Nintendo games.
Diddy kong is going to be great!

You know, I’m starting to think that Nintendo really isn’t going to make non-Nintendo characters playable. I mean, Snake hasn’t been announced on the website. Instead, we’re getting a ton of new Nintendo characters joining the fight (which I am pleased about, no doubt), but still no word from Sonic or Snake. They’ve given an introduction to everyone in the first trailer except for Snake. So…did someone take the rights away from them?

Stan: Snake is still definitely in the game. I think that the style of the Brawl’s director is to keep secret the details of Snake, as his inclusion really is something extraordinary. I understand you’re method of thinking, though. While some people really really DON’T want Sonic in this game, I think — as long as he PLAYS well (good moveset, etc.) — he would be a wonderful addition to this already stellar game.

Diddy Kong really looks to be a fantastic character!

This is actually a pretty cool character update, though it doesnt seem it, imagine the speedy little killer putting a whomping onto his opponents face. Gotta say the more I think about Diddy Kong running quickly and murdering everything in his sight the more I like it.

Snake was, indeed, in the teaser trailer, at the end! Although he was hiding inside a box… an indication that he was going to be kept under wraps until the last minute, perhaps?

I’ve always loved playing as Diddy in other games, especially since he’s much more quick and agile than Donkey. I can’t wait to play as him. :D

@InvisibileMan, hiding under a box is a normal thing that Snake does.

Anyway, I think the reason that Snake (And Metaknight not being shown on the Dojo site, but irrevelant to the point) is that he could be one of the first revealed ‘locked’ characters.

Awesome! The more characters the better.

    @ CESAR…

When Rare left Nintendo high and dry for Microsoft, they lost the ability to use the Donkey Kong franchise including any of the characters created for that series. Nintendo still uses any/all of those characters whenever they want, like the Kremlings in Mario Strikers. Even if one of those wacky Brits had designed Diddy (I’m pretty sure he was a Rare creation) the Big N owns him so they can do what they want with him.

On a side note, anyone else laughing at what a waste Rare has been to Microsoft? They dropped a load of cash on those guys and have no system-sellling efforts to show for it. In fact, in the 360 era it appears that all of Rare’s titles are laughing stocks, even if they’re half decent.

@Johnny Actually when Rare’s first MS game came out I had made the same realization…Can we please have a goldeneye remake for the DS plz?

I was a big Rare fan through the N64 days, and considered buying an Xbox to follow their new titles. I’m really glad I didn’t.
