A new challenger: Another great retro port!

This little beauty has been making the rounds at Kotaku, Offworld, and Cnet - and for good reason – it might be the ultimate solution to your VC controller woes!
To be distributed by Innex, the Komodo Retro adapter is a cute little N64 shaped device that hooks up NES, SNES, and N64 pads to your Nintendo Wii’s Gamecube controller ports. It looks like it’ll be a great addition for Nintendo fans who miss that old-sch00l feel. There are other options for the retro minded gamer, but at three ports for $20, this may be the best value.
This accessory is planned to be announced officially at E3, and will be avalible in mid-june online. Retail avalibility has not yet been announced.

It’s about time. I’m going to go home and dust off my old square controllers tonight! Bring on the palm indentations and sore thumbs

What would it matter if it was wireless, since you have to connect wire controllers to it?
I think this is awesome! I like the classic controller OK, but to be able to play games with their original controllers is so much better. Especially the NES pad. I never liked the feel of the remote sideways. I think it’s because it’s not wide enough; I always kind of hooked my fingers around the top of the NES pad.

Oh my god, yes!
I like the Classic Controller, but to be honest, I was playing Mega Man 9 the other night and the edges of the buttons are actually a little too sharp, so my fingers started to hurt a bit. I would consider buying this thing if I have money to spare when it comes out.

wonderful…..if only they sold old controllers too. that’s gonna be the bottleneck for sales of this thing.

@Andrew G.
If you want a classic style controller for Megaman 9, look into the Retro Classic Controller by Datel: http://www.infendo.com/wii/datel-old-skool-retro-controller-review/
The above setup might not work, as it uses the gamecube ports – which i’ve been told that Megaman 9 does not support.

Yes! The classic controller sucks, a real SNES pad is going to rock.

Huh, so it automatically link my link back in the comments? Weird…

I’m still amazed that neither Sega or Nintendo seem to be interested in making 6 button genesis controllers,or n64 controllers like the classic controller.

@ Sean:
Well, Mega Man 9 was supposed to support to Gamecube controllers, but Capcom decided to screw everyone over at the last minute who had bought a compatible NES controller from Retrozone with the explicit purpose of using it to play MM9!
I still haven’t forgiven them for that…
