7 low-profile Wii games that piqued my interest

While paging the latest issue of Nintendo Power, I spotted (or remembered) seven lower-profile Wii games that I’m curious about, in no particular order:
- Broken Sword: Director’s Cut
- Virtua Tennis 2009
- MotoGP
- Tiger Wood 09
- Deadly Creatures
- The House of the Dead: Overkill
- Tenchu: Shadow Assassins
I’m gonna try Tenchu tonight, with my impressions to follow. What lower-profile Wii games are you interested in?

House of the Dead Overkill is the only one I am really interested in trying out.

Broken Sword: Director’s Cut is what I am looking forward to, right now.

I’ve heard good things about Tenchu: House of Deadly Creatures.

I don’t think Virtua Tennis 2009 is coming to the Wii and that is a SIN!!!
Remember I heralded it as my hope to make me forget Top Spin 3 Wii?

Um. No, thanks. I’m-a stick to PokeMon Platinum.

Got Tenchu last night and had a lot of fun. The only real frustrating thing is that when you get caught the gameplay around defending yourself is frustrating. It would be fine if they left you in the third person and gave you a life bar, but the first person you only can take one hit is BS.

For some reason this cover reminded me of the old days of Nintendo Power. That cover for the NES Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves game that couldn’t use Kevin Costner’s likeness because of licensing issues, so they used artwork of him on a horse, drawn from the back.
But look at NP now! All licensed up with Harrison Ford and everything.
Crystal Skull sucked.

I have been really excited to play Deadly Creatures, but for some reason I feel no need to purchase it. I will probably rent it instead. I really like that THQ is putting some original games on the Wii that were obviously developed by people who want to push the Wii platform, but the concept doesn’t seem strong enough to warrant a purchase. It seems like it would become stale rather quickly. I am hoping that my rental time with the game will convince me to purchase it.
Other than that, the game I am most looking forward to is New Play Control Pikmin, which is not really a low profile game, but I want it now.

By the way, Blake, what do you think of Tenchu thus far?
