If you have already experienced the PS2 title, the redone skits may be enough to constitute a re-purchase. Tales of the Abyss is one of my favorite JRPGs due to the story and great pacing, so replaying the game on the go should be fantastic.

I have always felt that portables are the perfect systems to play RPGs, so I will gobble up this title up when it releases later this year.  Head past the break if you’re interested in English screenshots of the game.

There are a few things from the trailer that stood out to me. First, I absolutely love the new impressionist art direction Skyward Sword has taken.  To me, seems to be a compromise between the cel-shading of Wind Waker and the more realistic design of Twilight Princess.

Did you notice how Princess Zelda fell into the mouth of what looks to be a giant fish? Could it be the Wind Fish, which was the main focus of the Link’s Awakening storyline? Seems plausible considering Link’s Awakening was recently released on the eShop.

From what I played at E3, Skyward Sword is easily my most anticipated title to be released this year. All the Wii naysayers will have a hard time discounting Skyward Sword once it hits this holiday, and I have a feeling Wiimotes around the world will be dusted off when the title is finally available.

Side note: I really want a plush of that penguin-squirrel creature, someone make it happen!

Aliens: Infestation is a side-scrolling action title being published by Sega, and will feature a large selection of weapons and tools from the Aliens series. Sega is saying that there will be an upgrade and collectible system, making the the title sound like it will have a Metroid-vania feel to it.

Given the pedigree of WayForward, Aliens: Infestation is a title that deserves a look when it finally releases this fall. Head past the break to check out a few more screens of the game. (more…)

From the sound of things, Pokémon Rumble Blast will be more of an action game, featuring real-time battles against dozens of other Pokémon. The game will feature co-op play via local wireless connection, and also allow collected toy Pokémon to battle it out in the StreetPass mode.

Any takers? Anyone planning on picking this up this fall?

Swedish video game site AftonBladet.se recently had a sit down with Guillemot to talk about his impressions of Wii U and the outspoken CEO had lots to say about Nintendo’s new console. “I love it,” Guillemot tells AftonBladet. “It is a very, very interesting new concept with a revolutionary control. We need it to handle everything that comes now. Social games in HD and this screen will help enormously with that.”

Interesting that Guillemot would talk about social gaming for Wii U considering social games need a stable online interface to be successful. A sign that Nintendo plans to bring it when it comes to online play next generation? I sure hope so, but judging by the way the launch of the 3DS eShop was handled, I won’t be holding my breath. Prove me wrong Nintendo!
