Capcom has just released a new trailer for Ghost Trick. A game that revolves around a man named Sissel who is actually dead. He has no memories of who he was or why he was killed, but as a ghost he has the desire to protect others from suffering the same fate as him. He is taught by a possessed lamp how to perform Ghost Tricks, but is also informed that once dawn comes, his soul will disappear forever.

With one night to unravel the mystery of his death, and the desire to protect those around him. Will he succeed or will he fail. Sounds like Capcom has created another interesting title for our lovable handheld. Anyone excited for this one?

Not only has the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) inadvertently revealed information regarding the 3Ds’ screens, but it’s also tipped us off to a new version of the Wii remote. The new Wii remote which sports an RVL-036 label instead of the current RVL-003 branding was approved by the FCC, but manufacturer Hon Hai Precision–also known as Foxconn–submitted a confidentiality request which has prevented the FCC from publishing any specific details about the device until November 7, 2010.

This new Wii remote could be a simple revision including Bluetooth chips from a new supplier that require FCC approval, but it is possible that it contains new features. Some have noticed the addition of a seam which isn’t present in current Wii remotes and speculate that this new remote will have Motion Plus capabilities built-in. It sounds entirely plausible and even like a good announcement for E3. What say you, Infendites?

While Infendo usually reviews Nintendo related games, and most of you are wondering why 3D Dot Game Heroes is being reviewed on this site. I have to say that this game is heavily tied to the 8bit era, and has an even stronger tie to the original and famous Nintendo game, The Legend of Zelda. However, the question remains… is 3D Dot Game Heroes a complete rip off of a great game? or is it something that can stand on it’s own.

In Japan, there are DS titles to teach you just about anything you can think of. From how to cook, to how to smile, there’s no shortage of these instructional non-games, the bulk of which are focused on learning a new language:

See how they hide the girl’s face when she’s speaking English at the end? Titles like this seem to be a dime a dozen but you rarely see anyone making actual progress with them. So we want to ask you — have you used the DS to learn something new? Take our poll and let us know!

Nintendo is very determined to make me spend my summer playing games.  Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes out this weekend and now we get word from Nintendo that the long awaited Dragon Quest IX will be released on July 11th.  How do you feel about summertime game releases?  Seems like I should be getting outside more, but I guess the DS is portable …

Shigeru Miyamoto is talking, again, and today the topic of conversation is Zelda. Specifically, the next Zelda title and its difficulty. You see, there exists in Nintendo a worry right now. A worry that the Zelda series has become too difficult (and too repetitive) for most people to play and enjoy. There are no longer any “surprises” for gamers when they pick up a Zelda title.

So, Miyamoto and producer Eiji Aonuma scrapped the traditional Nintendo system for developing a new game and went back to the drawing board. Gone is the demo movie that traditionally kick started game development, and in its place was a built-from-the-ground-up approach that saw developers attacking game mechanics first, and building the game around that.

The past few Zelda games, on both home consoles and handhelds, have stuck to a fairly recognizable pattern that Miyamoto claims is complicated. Nintendo is “creating a new way to play the game,” said the developer. “We are trying to make Zelda, which has become very complicated, easier to play,” he continued.

I’m all for completely new and improved, and I’m glad Nintendo is apparently taking things so seriously with the next Zelda title. However, here’s what I hope “easier” does not mean:

But this is a video-game company, after all, and most of the fun stuff is on the inside. There’s an employees-only Nintendo World store, a new Cafe Mario employee restaurant, and a directional system that divides the building into color-coded quadrants named after Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Wario.

Not to mention a gigantic top-floor conference room named the “Master Sword,” a reference that Legend of Zelda fans will appreciate. It’s like something out of a movie, with big chairs surrounding a long table, and clocks on the wall displaying the time in Remond, Kyoto and New York.

A wifi filing and leaked images appear to confirm that Nintendo’s unnamed portable, now codenamed “CTR” in a FCC filing, will have both a 3D stereoscopic widescreen display and a traditional 4:3 ratio one when it launches later this year (or next?).

The use of CTR is significant. Previous DS versions, like the DSi and XL, went by codenames TWL and UTL, respectively. The use of CTR, a completely new naming convention, suggests a radically new kind of portable.

The FCC filing also revealed some previously known features, including a backwards-compatible DS cartridge slot and SD car port. Stereo speakers were also included in the filing.
