Sega “considering” next mature Wii game

Sega is BFF with Wii. At least that’s what one managing director for the company says, after releasing three core titles on Wii (Overkill, MadWorld, and Conduit).

“House of the Dead: Overkill was a profitable title for us,” revealed Gary Dunn, MD of European development for Sega, speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz. “Whilst MadWorld commercially didn’t sell what we were expecting, I wouldn’t say it’s game over for mature Wii titles from Sega… We’ve got money to invest in development, we’re just considering where to invest it next.”

Sega does what Nintendon’t.

    Sega and Nintendo are a perfect balance, just like Yin and Yang

    As much as I used to love Sega and Sega games; I just really can’t buy their games anymore. At least not until a good Sonic game comes out again (and I’m not holding my breath on that one)

    “Sega does what Nintendon’t.”

    Only this time, Nintendo fans are happy about it.

    @ Cory

    Personally, I find that to be slightly absurd. What’s been spewing out garbage is Sonic Team, not Sega (at least not directly). Why not buy the GOOD games from Sega whilst ignoring the ignorant pile of fetid waste that is Sonic Team?

    P.S. While I’ve yet to try them, I have heard many good things about Sonic Rush

    P.P.S. While we’re on the topic, what would you consider to be the last “good” Sonic game we’ve had for a console? As for myself, I’d have to say Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I still go back now and then to play it.

    Ok Sega, if we can get an Aliens game coming to DS and Aliens games for the “hard core consoles” then we need an Aliens game for the Wii. T(preferably an FPS and not a guided first person adventure hehe)

    I don’t see why they wouldn’t go for the next HV games… I’d have my money on that one

    I don’t like Sega taking credit for for these games, and I’m sick of them getting the praise. All Sega does is publish, they aren’t actually making any of these good titles.

    They aren’t even responsible for Sonic Rush, that was Dimps.

  8. Brian says...

    Yeah that’s true but somebody has to publish. I wish Nintendo had gotten the Conduit.

    The whole House of the Dead franchise has BOOMED on the Wii. HotD 2&3 Return sold over 1 million copies! A milestone for any home console House of the Dead game! Hopefully Overkill continues to sell well (it’s a great game) and we can get an Overkill 2!

    @hyperphazon

    Anything Sonic on DS is prime (Rush, Rush Adventure, Chronicles). IMO last great console game was SA2 but I liked Heroes as well.

    @Brian

    Are you serious? The ONLY thing I hoped would happen with the Sega + Aliens announcement was that the KICKASS Aliens: Extermination arcade shooter by GlobalVR and Playmechanix might get a home port!

    or Alien3: The Gun.

    Yeah HVS would be their best bet again…. the grinder is a must.

    @gojiguy

    Yes I’m deadly serious. Why wouldn’t I be? In fact I’m so serious that I contacted GlobalVR, Playmechanix and Sega about porting that arcade game that you mentioned. I did that many months ago.

    So snap! Hehe!

    You’re my hero, man. Kudos.

    So far I am enjoying rheir msture offering. Come on Sega please make Panzor Dragoon…I would love to play that on the Wii!

    It’s called The Grinder. I know from the Guitar Hero Community Wii Rockers private forums.
