Nintendo comments on lack of Pikmin 3 at E3 2009

Miyamoto held a private round table event earlier in which the question of why there was no Pikmin 3 at E3 was brought up? He kindly replied…
“I’m sorry. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to expand the team size very much, because we’ve been working on so many different games that we’ve shown off at the show. So the team is working very hard, but it’s a bit of a small team…The basic work that they’ve been doing quite nicely….my basic idea is that the sense of the depth of the game and the simplicity of the control will all be there.”
Sounds like Nintendo’s software development teams are a little overloaded. Expect a official reveal at either GDC 2010, or E3 2010.

Thanks for the update, Jake! Looks like Miyamoto reads Infendo.

Well that’s fine. We have Mario, Zelda, Metroid coming. I’m happy.

Yeah, seriously, with Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all on the table this year in some form, fashion, and capacity, we have nothing to complain about.
In any case, I think we’ll learn more about Pikmin 3 at the potential fall Nintendo event. Remember how Punch-Out!! and Sin * Punishment 2 were revealed at that event last year? I hope they do it again this year.

I’m not complaining, just disappointed. I mean, we’ve got another Metroid and Mario announced, but we’ve already HAD one of each on the Wii for both of those, it’s due time for Pikmin 3.

I have something to complain about! Where’s my Super Smash Bros. DSi? Where’s my StarFox or F-ZERO Wii?
